… and all the sudden my designer genes kicked in. I was all the sudden very curious about how to properly pronounce “Helvetica Neue”. This is one of those must know fonts if you have ever done any design. With most of my design work being done over email/IM in the past, I’ve never had to pronounce this word.

Anyways, if you are curious like me, it is pronounced Helvetica noy-a. nonEngineeringKnowledge++;

This website has a list of pronunciation keys for that difficult to pronounce font that all the cool kids have. For example, I feel kind of silly pronouncing “Univers” as “Universe” like some silly Englishmen. I am pronouncing it “oo’-nih-VAIR” from now on along with my best attempt at a French accent.
