Apparently, Rogers has stopped selling the smaller data packages and they are now going for the $7 unlimited internet browsing plan now. That might all sound pretty sweet, but if you want to use your phone for Google Maps, other 3rd party apps or even just e-mail, sorry, that’ll be 5 cents/kb.
So there is a huge gap now from $7/mth with no “non-WAP data” to $25/mth with 4mb of data. For me, I’ve managed to get by with having 5mb of data per month for my spontaneous Google Map’ing or MSN’ing needs. Now that the plan is no longer offered, I don’t know what I’ll do without (relatively cheaper) data. I don’t want to be paying an additional $1.50 for each time I use Google Maps, that’s just silly! On the other hand, I also don’t want to pay $25/mth for less data!
Damn you Rogers!

I got excited when I first read that Rogers had this new $7 unlimited internet feature… but… darn, that’s garbage compared to Bell’s truly unlimited mobile internet for $7
I’ll stick with my Bell, thank you very much.
