I’ve switched to the Blackberry mail plan!
It’s set up to read my waterloo and scottkuo.com email accounts right now, but I’ll set up the other ones tomorrow too.
I made some other changes to my current cell phone plan though to accommodate this change, including the removal of my 5mb navigate internet plan (ie. I can’t pull out the Google maps everywhere now). Oh wells. There’s still wifi. No wifi on the Rogerberrys!

One of the models of the 8800s has Wi-fi…
You should have gotten a CrackBerry for their BlackBerry Maps software – it uses vector data instead of Google’s stupid raster-based map system. I don’t understand why they do that… it just eats your bandwidth apart…
I have Nokia Maps
But that’s still no fun without a mobile data plan which I do not intend on getting. Right now Rogers says that on the new data plans coming out in two weeks, you can’t sign up for them unless you sign a 3 year data agreement which I don’t want to do. There IS hack-ish free data that I can try to get right now… but I don’t have real needs for it right now.
Maybe by next year Telus will have their GSM network ready (also when my contract expires) and I’ll be way better position to bargain with the Rogers retentions department for a good plan.
Right now they have my voice plan offered for 7.50 less per month, but I’d rather wait out the 12 months left on the contract to get something way better when Rogers has some competition in the GSM space.
