This morning I finally decided to install Firefox 3 Beta on my work machine after having gotten used to it at home and can’t stand the fake version (now updated with beta 5) anymore. But when I headed to MDC to get the installer, it had been updated to Beta 5!
After installing it and running it for just a few minutes, I had noticed a dramatic speed improvement in its JavaScript engine! I don’t know what they did exactly but my massive dashboard is running super smooth! Even on the really slow laptop I have at work, the pages all load super fast! I suggest that you go download it and give it a try.

I tried the Firefox 3 Beta when it was back in Alpha 1 or Beta 1 stage last term and it was an interesting beast. They hadn’t refined the UI for the autocomplete / search address bar yet and it was just rough around the edges as a whole; understandably so. With these betas lasting only a couple weeks before they roll out a new version, I’m just too lazy to constantly update them, so I think I’ll wait for the full release of it before I go all gung-ho and install it. After all, my dashboard’s not as big as your dashboard. Haha.
