About

Hi there, I am Scott Kuo, a 4th year undergrad student attending University of Waterloo. My fields of study are Computer Engineering and Financial Economics.

I use this blog to feature random things I find awesome. It covers a wide-range of topics from technical trading, automated trading, business intelligence, software engineering, industrial design, user experience, and graphics design.

I have worked at a number of companies in the past: TD SecuritiesSAP, PMC-Sierra, BMO Capital Markets, Imagine Canada, and INSINC Interactive Netcasting; and volunteered with tons of organizations: TWSA, UW Photo Club, CUTC, Youthink, UW Housing, and CFSBC.

My current pet project is the uwlive.ca website, which is devoted to make the information system at UW human digestible and to help students (especially first years) find information about what actually goes on around school. The pilot child project, Courselect, aggregates course selection information across three different university information systems. It currently has a healthy user base of about 3000 users.

Feel free to get in touch with me using the information provided on my contact page. Thanks for dropping by!

Remark: Although the sans-serif type is used extensively throughout the website, my favourite typeface is actually Caslon.
